Problems with Confidence

People from all walks of life can lack confidence in themselves for one reason or another. And this can be the most disabling of problems to have. Attending meetings at work, going out for a drink with friends, forming new relationships, all can become impossibly nerve-wracking.

Most people simply grow up lacking confidence, as a direct outcome of their background and childhood experiences. But others can lose their confidence at sometime later in their lives, for a variety of reasons.

There are many books available on confidence building, and these can be very helpful. But if that isn't enough, our 20 hour distance learning Confidence Building Course is supportive, enjoyable and informative. It helps people to understand and overcome such difficulties, and gives them a way forward.

There is a short questionnaire if you would like to rate how confident you are.

Confidence Building Course

This is a 20 hour self-development course for anyone who wants to improve their confidence in any area of their life, and is available in user-friendly flexible distance learning.

It has been carefully compiled by Alice Muir (author and psychologist) and Dr Ken Hambly (a medical doctor, and author of How to Improve Your Confidence, Sheldon Press), and will help people to :

  • Gain a better understanding of what confidence is
  • Understand how confidence can be lost
  • Have a clearer and more positive sense of their strengths and their identity
  • Be more clear on their priorities in life
  • Understand stress and anxiety better, and some methods of managing them
  • Understand how to talk and behave more confidently
  • Learn new skills to help them to cope better in a range of difficult situations
  • Make up their own Plan of Action to follow after the course

All of this will unfold in two Workbooks, which people can work on at their own pace, with informal and friendly tutor support if wanted. Those who take the course are asked to complete 2 short Progress Reports explaining what they feel they are getting from the course.
